Production
improvements continues today by combining quality in craftsmanship with the computerization
of our process and inventory control laboratory assures that the customer's most
exact metallurgical and tolerance requirements are met. Such precision casting
is the result of GABSAN's metallurgical expertise. Our laboratory performs analyses
by optical emission spectrometry statistical process control methods are used
to trace the function of on-going casting. Quality
control and casting methods meet or exceed standard A.S.T.M. Thus GABSAN customers
are assured of consistent high quality casting everytime. Our
metallurgical documentation department is capable of providing you with the following
services; - Chemical
certification with mercury free statement.
- Mechanical
testing-tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, hardness.
- Polished
and etched samples of casting cross section.
- Certifiations
to all applicable commercial.

| | TECHNOLOGY |
The
technology of molding liquid metal has improved over the years. Rather than pouring
the metal from the top, the casting crucible is furnace-fed an under pouring method
from continuous melting source. The molten bornze is maintained at the correct
holding temperature in a totally enclosed crucible.Any dirt, dross or gases present
rise to the top of the melt and left behind in the casting process. Acting as
a riser, the bronze prevents the formation of shrinkage cavities which would otherwise
introduce imperfections in the final product. | |
